Yakshas and Chasm

Featuring the yakshas, fushe, and chaotic twisting spacetime deep within the chasm. An adventure featuring Xiao, Itto, Yelan, and more.

Genshin released a yaksha trailer video, telling the story of the five yakshas and Boyang. They introduced the following characters with Chinese CV:

• Boyang, Chen Haotian (伯阳——陈昊天): ancestor of Yelan
• Bosacius / Fushe, Gan Ziqi (浮舍——淦子齐): died in Chasm, went crazy, the electro yaksha with several arms
• Indarias / Yingda, Chen Ruijie (应达——陈睿婕): pyro yaksha
• Bonanus / Fa'nan, Qin Wenjing (伐难——秦文静): hydro yaksha
• Menogias / Minu, Xu Xiang (弥怒——徐翔): geo yaksha
• Jinpeng / Alatus, kinsen / Jin Chuan (金鹏——kinsen, 金川): Xiao, anemo yaksha

The yaksha (夜叉 / यक्ष) is a creature or type of spirit that features prominently in Chinese and Indian cultures in the Buddhist and Hindu religions.

The fact that the chasm borders the Sumeru region (with Sumeru based on India with Arabic and Persian influences), and that the yakshas are deeply tied to the history of the chasm, highlights the ties between Liyue and Sumeru, just like the ancient and cultural ties between China and India (and in general China and the West).

In this way, the yaksha chasm story in 2.7 serves as a kind of prelude to the Sumeru release in 3.0.
